Saturn’s Mist is a multi-disciplinary media company. As an artist, I have used my position here to provide music production in the Nigerian scene between 2020 and 2021. Saturn’s Mist is currently expanding into fashion, film, production services, artist development and podcasting.
I was the general manager of the art gallery, Creative workspace, Bar and Airbnb service with the 16/16 space.
I was in charge of the customer experience, bookings, organizing and managing projects and events, staff management, daily accounting, inventory and supply management.
During my stay, we had many international business travellers in our space. We held creative retreats for companies such as Union Bank, hosted quite a few events for the Goethe Institut and were one of the venues being passed through during Art X in 2019. We were the proud venue for the popular rapper, Ladipoe's listening party.
I was on a team of traditional media planners and buyers working on accounts such as Google, Perfetti (Mentos, Alpenliebe etc), Glaxo Smithkline (Panadol, Ribena, Lucozade, etc), Union Bank and Estee Lauder. I spearheaded the Estee Lauder projects in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria.
I mainly handled analytics on this team, determining the best platforms to advertise these brands.
I prepared media campaign plans and liaised with the buying team to assign to the appropriate media outlets to advertise the brands.
We worked with television, radio, press and OOH (Billboard Advertisers).
I learned all the basics and fundamental principles of digital marketing. From here, I was able to recognize my strengths in Social Media and also my knack for creative strategy and copywriting.
My history in traditional marketing helped me to further understand the depths of this field and ignite a passion for the digital space that once laid dormant.
My degree at this institute is specialized in Radio and Television broadcasting. During my years there, I learned the principles of communication, the types and how to use them in everyday interaction as well as in media, laws and ethics surrounding media, especially in Nigeria and production basics in television and radio.
My final year project explored the content, in form of music, of Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and Lagabaja. I dove into the political activism and representation of their art forms and how this form of communication impacted both the government and the people of Nigeria.
